Reinstating karoo.binaries.

Outcome:

KC were unable to reinstate karoo.binaries, as the Giganews service only supports binary groups in the alt.binaries.* hierarchy.

Discussion Area:

2mbit downstream/512kbit upstream ADSL service.

Outcome:

KC have been pleased with the take-up of the 1mbit service, however no targets have been set to determine the demand for a 2mbit service. KC commented that an 'ultimate' ADSL service is being considered, where the connection speed would be the maximum supported by ADSL.

Anti-Virus/Anti-SPAM.

Outcome:

KC are to introduce a transparent Anti-Virus service for all customers, free of charge. KC will also introduce an Anti-SPAM service, free of charge, to ADSL customers. However, the dial-up customers will pay £1 per month for the Anti-SPAM service.

End of June for the Anti-Virus service/End of July for the Anti-SPAM service.

Terms and Conditions.

Outcome:

KC are to look at clarifying the Terms and Conditions for sections 9.5 and 14, as section 9.5 conflicts with Acceptable Use Policy section 7, and section 14 is misleading to the customer.

Outcome:

Currently the proxy servers are going through a major upgrade to alleviate any issues that make the Karoo services appear slow.
