WHAT DOES THIS NEWSGROUP CHARTER APPLY TO?
This newsgroup charter applies to all of the karoo.* newsgroups available on any news server or service. The Karoo newsgroups are specifically provided for the use of Karoo customers and Kingston Communications PLC employees only.
Please note that the restrictions for each Karoo newsgroup may vary slightly depending on the purpose of that newsgroup. For details on each newsgroup, and its purpose, please refer to the newsgroups section of this post.
ENFORCEMENT OF THIS NEWSGROUP CHARTER
Kingston Communications PLC will not actively monitor the karoo.* newsgroups for violations of the newsgroup charter, however, should it be brought to the attention of Kingston Communications PLC, either by an employee, user or third-party, that the newsgroup charter has been violated, then once the violation has been verified, the appropriate action, including, but not limited to, termination of the user's account, will be taken.

SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO POST USING ACCEPTED USENET NETIQUETTE
A significant number of different news readers will be used to access the Karoo newsgroups, hence to help ensure that posts display correctly for everyone, it is often suggested on Usenet to post using a set of standards known as 'netiquette'.

KAROO.ANNOUNCE:
karoo.announce is a moderated newsgroup for the use of Kingston Communications PLC employees, and is specifically used to make Karoo service announcements, for example, changes or outages to any of the Karoo services.
KAROO.ANSWERS:
karoo.answers is an un-moderated newsgroup for the use of Karoo customers to ask questions they may have regarding computer software or hardware, that other Karoo customers, or Kingston Communications PLC employees, may be able to answer.
KAROO.GAMES:
karoo.games is an un-moderated newsgroup for the use of Karoo customers to discuss the Karoo games servers and any other games related issues.
KAROO.LINUX:
karoo.linux is an un-moderated newsgroup for the use of Karoo customers to discuss the Linux and/or UNIX operating systems and associated software.
KAROO.LOCAL:
karoo.local is an un-moderated newsgroup for the use of Karoo customers to discuss issues relating to Hull, and the wider world in general.
KAROO.MART:
karoo.mart is an un-moderated newsgroup for the use of Karoo customers to buy, sell and/or swap wanted/unwanted goods.
The usual restrictions on the type of goods that can be advertised for buying, selling and/or swapping apply to this newsgroup, for example, the advertising of weapons of any kind or living creatures (pets etc) is strictly prohibited.
KAROO.SERVICE:
karoo.service is an un-moderated newsgroup for the use of Karoo customers to discuss issues relating to the Karoo services.
KAROO.TEST:
karoo.test is an un-moderated newsgroup for the use of Karoo customers to post test messages to Usenet.
It is a good practice to post a 'test' message (after changing any settings) to ensure that you are not going to contravene any restrictions of this newsgroup charter, for example, by accidentally setting your news reader to post in HTML format.
KAROO.VIP:
karoo.vip is an un-moderated newsgroup for the use of Karoo customers that may be visually impaired.
